A brief guide to ultramarathon distances

Each race distance is very different, with its own characteristics and challenges. This article gives an overview of the common ultramarathon distances and, for want of a better term, their 'flavor'.

  1. Thanks for the tips and the blog. I check on it often and really enjoy the information. I have run five marathons and one 50K (in fact I saw you at both the Triple Lakes and the Frosty 50K this year...) and want to add a 50 miler to my resume... Do you have any suggestions for good races around NC that cover this distance?
